I have been in denial for a few months..I was referred to and was diagnosed this past July...I followed all appointments and tests...did well until about Oct....went into full denial..stopped my meds....ignored the symptoms...also missed my last doctor's appointment.....This past week, I have realized that I can't ignore this anymore because of my falling and slurred speech...I started back on my meds...(just take mestinon 90 three times a day)...I call my neurologist this past Monday to see him and explain what is going on..he is out of the office on Monday so I leave a message that I need to see him because I am feeling bad....no reply by Tuesday afternoon until I call his office again....they said that he said that he would see me next week on Jan 7.
Have I screwed up? I feel so bad and really wanted to see him before next wednesday. The meds are helping me a little bit...But I am scared that I have screwed up with this doctor. |

LOL--I did the SAME thing so many years ago. Darn near killed myself, too! One day, as I sat on my front porch feeling miserable, my husband brought me the phone. On it was my NEURO--- I thought I would soil myself! He however, was just concerned that he hadn't heard from me, and there was never any blaming, or lectures.
I'm sure you will be fine. Just go in and explain what's happening. Since you just take mestinon, there is no reason to even mention your transgressions as it is not in any way an immune modulating drug. Just tell him your current protocol "isn't cutting it!" Don't worry so much! It will all be fine! Happy New Year. Missy |

I think most of us go into denial......this darn disease can be so scary!!!!!
You prolly didn't tick off your neuro........he/she is probably busy..........just tell his receptionist that you feel really awful and they'll work you in...... Hang in there!!!!! Once you're on your other meds, you'll feel MUCH better!!! Erin Quote:

I'm quite sure I annoyed my neuro when I first visited him. Now we have a great repore, even joke sometimes, it is nice to know he will now listen to me, ask what I want to do etc, but it did take a while to warm to each other.
