Thumbs up Wellllllllll............

I felt them immediately the first time! Granted, I was very, very ill and in the ICU, so ANYTHING was an improvement, but I felt GREAT almost immediately!

Hope this helps!

Still waiting....

Hi Matt's sis, I was sort of joking above, but also being serious. IVIG did nothing for me - in fact when I had it I crashed for 4 days after. I didn't have a crisis or anything, but was just very weak - basically bed-bound for days. It wasn't fun! Be patient though - most MG'ers show a huge improvement with IVIG (I'm jealous it didn't work for me, would have been an easy - although expensive answer). MG is so different in everyone the neurologists often have to play with our medications for awhile until they get the right balance. I'm on 150 mg of azathioprine daily, 40 mg of prednisolone every second day and 60 mg of Mestinon every 3 hours.

When was your brother diagnosed? What symptoms does he have? What other medications is he on? It's great you are able to be so supportive - he'll need you!

Take care!
~Kathy

Hi again, I just read your other post so feel free to ignore my questions above. I agree with Erin re. the steroids - I was hospitalised when I started my dose (orginally 60mg daily) just in case. Thankfully i had no problems and ended up writing all my Christmas cards and finishing my report cards while i was there. It was almost like a working vacation. I hope everything sorts itself out with your brother - it is a very frustrating time when you are trying to figure things out.
