Default Eyes swollen, edema and tingling of hands, swollen lip?

I am calling the neuro's office this morning, even though I see him tomorrow., yesterday my eyes swelled., then later in the evenng i have edema in my hands and like a burning, tingling feeling and my bottom lip is swollen., i didn't take and mestonin last night nor this morning. So I am hoping things simmer down if it is a reaction to mestonin.

Called the Doctors office, just heard back., he advised quit taking the medicine and he'll see me tomorrow. I already quit taking the medicine , so I guess I just suffer with the symptoms till they go away., he could have given me a medrol pack., now I know why I am going to another Doctor as soon as they can get me in.

Are you able to tolerate Benadryl? Maybe liquid Benadryl so you can take a little bit at a time. Benadryl is relatively contraindicated in MG but some people can tolerate it in small doses.

It appears as if you are having a more serious allergic reaction. Any hives? If it were me, I already would've gone to an urgent care center or my primary doctor. Your neuro tomorrow will be completely at a loss, since he's a neuro and doesn't sound very effective.

You need some kind of advice right away, okay? And in person.

Annie

I think because I take zyrtec for my allergies it is not as bad as it could be., I called the neuro because he was the prescribing the meds, but like you said he doesn't sound too effective., actually the hands are better., the eyes aren't quite as swollen., so I feel safe , but if it gets worse I will be going to the er., I haven't taken any mestonin since yesterday ., I do not have any hives.
Thanks again

Hi, I just wanted to chime in and say that some of your symptoms sound a lot like MS too, so make sure you tell your Neuro everything. Write down questions to ask him. Will you being going alone, or will someone go with you?
best of wishes
Love Lizzie
P.S. I must advise you that Benedryl can be very dangerous for MG'ers, so ask your doc about that as well.
