Heart Off topic - Locks of Love

Hello all! With a HOT summer upon us, I thought it would be great if we donated some of our hair to Locks of Love - a great organization that helps children w/cancer by making them wigs. What a GREAT idea!

If you are interested, google Locks of Love for the info and donation sheet - can you imagine being that sick and so young? I for one, cannot!

Imagine- a GREAT new look and keeping cool - plus, we have the added bonus of not having to "fuss" with our hair.....I'm all for that!

Big hugs!
Erin

Hi Erin!
I did this 2 years ago and agree that it's a great idea! One of my pupils was diagnosed with lukemia at the time and i felt so helpless - that was the only thing i felt was in power to do. It was easy too - you just tie your hair in a braid get it chopped off above the elastic and then pop it in a plastic bag and post it. Your hair does have to be quite long - my braid was about 12 inches.

Great idea Erin! i hope you inspire others!

Thumbs up

I am growing my hair out just for them. It's just touching my bra strap in the back.

Erin, you're a wonderful person!

Here in Denver they had a kind of a "hair drive" a couple of years ago. I know a girl that participated and she got the cutest cut! I've been needing a cut for a while, so I'll certainly check this out - had forgotten all about it and didn't realize they had a website!

I hope they take two tone hair - I also need a die job on my 3 inch gray roots!

I am seriously thinking of going short, short, the only problem is a short cuts requires monthly cuts. Which is impossible for me to keep up with. In a delema, If I do it, you will see a new picture posted ! Surprise ! LOL......

Default Hadn't thought of that!

I'm gonna do it! My appt is this sat @ 11:00, but I am trying to gt in sooner......

I've had long hair for so long now that I'd forgotten the monthly cuts, but I'll skip those and just grow it out as fast as I can - pred is wonderful for my hair - it has never been pretty......now I get compliments all the time! LOL Who'd of thunk it?
