Default Hi Everyone

Just checkin in to let you know I'm still here. I hope each of you has a good Sunday. I'm sorry I haven't been able to post more (weak) but I do read all the posts and think of all of you. My husband and I are in Richmond, Va, for our grandson's first birthday! It's my first trip since I went down for the count in April. Gosh, traveling just isn't so easy anymore. I'm happy to be able to be here, though.

I received some good news that the insurance company claims rep did indeed say that my case was validated and in order for long term disability. I also received some bad news that my "mostly" terrific boss did a lousy thing and changed our long term disability policy to include a 180 day elimination period (of which only the first 3 months are short term) so I have 3 months to go with no pay before I start receiving benefits. What was he thinking??

Take care everyone,

Hey Sharman,

That's so nice you could be with your grandson on his first birthday. Enjoy your visit. Traveling takes a lot out of me too. Sorry to hear you have to go 3 months without pay, but glad to hear everything else is good to go. Take care and get some rest when you get back.

Hugs,
Pat

Sharman,
Glad to hear the good new about the grandson's birthday. Aren't they great!! Take it easy on your travels, as it takes it out of me physically also. I know what you mean. Sorry about the bad news, but happy about the good news!!

Connie, That was very nice of you to say, thank you. I appreciate your kind words. I am still feeling pretty good and have been puttering around the house getting some chores done...that feels so good! How are you feeling? I've been keeping good thoughts. You take good care of yourself.

Big Hugs,
Pat

Connie,
I am back!!! I have been a little under the weather....and in Texas it is HOT!!! I am trying to deal with a few minor side effects that are just annoying, but otherwise, just trying to stay cool. Thanks for asking! Take care.
Hugs,
Simon

Good to see everyone is checking in.
I went into town today, with Mum Dad and big Sister(Mum needed help with Dad, hes in a wheelchair,) to look at a new TV for Dad.

Dear Big Sister, who is always looking out for me, commented when I said how tired I was. She said "You're Pale, you could be part of Edwards clan", as in Edward from Twilight. So I must have looked pretty bad, I just find it so nice that she is so tuned into my body.........I am a very lucky little sister.

Hey everyone!
Just thought I'd pop in to say hi! I'm on vacation in Canada (home from Scotland for the summer - visiting parents etc). I've been checking in occasionally to see how you are all doing. I've been pretty good since being home, had one really bad day soon after I arrived (figure it must have been jetlag). The day was so bad I had to break out my cane! My poor mom was beside herself! She didn't know what to think.

My uncle (who is 62) got married for the first time last weekend - such a romantic story. I read at the wedding which was great, since a year ago I wouldn't have been able to walk up to the altar and read in front of everyone. I'm still quite swollen from my pred, but looking more "normal" compared to last year.

Hope you are all enjoying the summer! Take care!

Its great to see all of you checking in!! Missed hearing from so many of you.

I've been trying to walk around more, still insisting on walking by myself. HAve gotten used to my fascics so they're no longer bothering me that much. Amazing how my body jumps alot nowadays. Lol. am still doing my best to keep my weight up, am thankful it has not dropped recently. Having a hard time sleeping, get breathless ev now and then, so sleeping on two pillows. Lol. I feel like a giraffe, raising my neck/head so high. Wake up in the morning aching, think its due to the weird raised position. But at least I get to sleep. The weather here has been great, but really hot!!

Pat: You deserve it! You're such a sweet person. Am glad you have enough energy to go about doing some chores. Rem to take it easy! Thoughts are things, and good thoughts will translate into good things!!

Simon: Yeah! WAs wondering what you've been up to. I've heard stories bout how HOT Texas can get, hope you get to stay cool and chase away those side effects!

Kate: You lucky girl. Am so glad you've a great sister looking out for you, and that you got to go out with your family! Its always nice to have family support.

Kathy: You've checked in!Great to hear from you. I'm also swollen from my meds, so I understand what you're feeling. Glad that you're home, and on vacation! Rem to enjoy yourself! It must be really sweet reading at your uncle's wedding. Happy that things are better for you!

Hi Connie,

I am glad to hear you are still able to get around on your own and found a way to get a good nights sleep.

I am still feeling pretty good just don't have much energy. I Pulled a muscle in my back just by lifting a couple of small laundry baskets yesterday. Wish I could say they were heavy, but they weren't. LOL It will feel better by tomorrow, so I won't do too much today. Maybe I'll bake some brownies...my husband's been hinting for them. It has been hot & humid (not as bad as Texas) here and today we are getting strong thunder storms.

Thank you again, but I'm only doing what everyone else here does including yourself. I hope you have a good day! Take care.

Hugs,
Pat
