I had a Myasthenic Crisis in April and was in the ICU. At that time they started me on Cellcept. They said it could take several months before it would work. In the meantime, I've had three IVIG treatments. But I'm still really sick - droopy eye, double vision, choking, etc. I've read some of you are taking Imuran. What is the difference? Does one typically work if the other one doesn't? I'm open to any ideas.

I was started on Imuran but had too many side effects..nausea 24/7, bad muscle spasms and just overall weakness so I was put on CellCept and have done a lot better. It does take months to work, according to my neuro, but it has helped me more with the strength and less side effects. I also have IVIG treatments along with the CellCept and Mestinon, which I was also taking with the Imuran. Are you taking Mestinon? The IVIG and CellCept have done well for me, but others here on the board have had just the opposite story, so each of us is different, as you will see. Hope you get to feeling better and that things turn around quickly. Keep us informed and maybe someone else will also share....I know they will....!! Best wishes and keep the faith.
