Anyone here get these or are getting the shots for Shingles or the H1N1 flu?
With an autoimmune disease we are likely to contract other diseases. I see my neuro on Fri. and was going to ask him about these. But I was wondering what others were doing about these. I thought I read something somewhere about the combination of taking CellCept and getting the H1N1 shot, but I can't remember what it was. I am presently taking CellCept. |

My docs. warned me about getting any shots...As much as you want to be safe from these viruses, I would seriously avoid getting the shots, especially if you're immunosupressed/have an autoimmune disease...

I was told as long as it is not a live vaccine, like a flu shot, it is good to get it. Any live vaccine is a big NO NO, I am not sure if the H1N1 is live or not.

Hey there!
I did get the regular flu shot, but NOT one for anything else. I was advised by all of my docs to NEVER get the live anything - EVER! How are you feeling today? Are you feeling better? Big hugs! ERin Quote:

Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good. I am actually in the middle of a 5 day vacation in Branson, MO. Going to be in the high 90s tomorrow. Heading to a water park. I'll wear lots of sunscreen and find some shade.

tamiflu and relenza are supposed to be ok for mg. you might want to talk to your doc about those options if you are at risk of exposure. they tend to be rationed in event of a large outbreak. i'm right near the border, we've had over 700 confirmed cases and 12 deaths to date.
