Hi, I live in Hungary and in February I was prescribed a fluoroquinolones-based antibiotic for bronchitis. Within a week, I had tendinitis in both Achilles tendons, my ability to balance was badly compromised and the nerves in my leg muscles and maybe elsewhere were damaged. Six months later, after a strict program of training (exercise bike, walking, physio exercises) most of my symptoms have improved, but I still have pains in my ankles, balance only with care and concentration, and get very tired walking distances which I used to cover with ease. I recently discovered a Wikipedia entry on fluoroquinolones which said that some of the changes were irreversible.
I am planning to seek help from a neurologist locally (Budapest), but am interested to hear from other victims anywhere about any treatments or solutions they have found. Thanks. |

You might try posting your question in the peripheral neuropathy forum. There are some folks that know about this over there.
