Pain in general tends to do that. It's hard to be happy or perky when you're in pain. I have Trigeminal Neuralgia (the facial pain you're talking about) as a symptom of my MS but some people get it all by itself. Do they have you on any medicine for it? Sometimes Advil will help to take the edge off when it gets unbearable. But I try not to take Advil very often. I know I have a very hard time not snapping at everyone when my pain is really bad, that makes it hard for the kids. I just have to say I'm so sorry. I know exactly what it feels like and I hope they find something to help you, soon!

Hi,

I'm sorry that you are going through this. I have TN as well and it is one of the most difficult journeys I have ever been on.

Ofcourse it makes me depressed. The pain wears me right down. I have been in and out of dire pain a few times with it already with flare ups. As soon as I get the pain under control I am my old self again. I immediately feel normal.
The pain is incessant and very isolating.

TN is very unpredictable. Pains come and go. Patterns emerge and then change.

Are you on medication?

There is a separate section on this website for Trigeminal Neuralgia. If you post there it will get noticed easier.
