Dearest mama, listen to your docs if you can. They are trying to help and leaving it for too long will only make it more serious and more complicated.
I had a colonoscopy about 2 years ago with a camera down the throat as well; it was very quick, didn't remember a thing, and out again that afternoon. Even with all my stuff I had very little problem. It is only a general that causes me issues. No tubes, no major meds. Talk to the anaesthesiologist about your med issues; they listen and are good. I have to admit my prep for the c was yuck; if they ave a pill now that would be far better Just the difficulty of having to drink so much stuff beforehand. I have been thinking of you. I'm gong back to my GP tomorrow to continue my search, so perhaps together we'll all get this sorted out. (((hugs))) |

Thanks, Lexie,
I just think that there is no need for a colonoscopy, and that right now one is dangerous. Since I can't tolerate IV's it is going to hurt like the devil, too, but if it did anything it would be worth it. I am having additional pain in a new place (same side) and added sx. I just want this to go away. By the time I wait for the test and the results, and the scheduling for surgery we're talking at least a month. I don't think I have that long - or even close. k |

try to get a script for Emla cream. It's a topical numbing agent you use over the area they are going to start the IV in. We use it all the time with my kids, and I have too...it really does work, mamma. You wont feel the stick.

Thanks Alicia, but it's not the stick, but the being hooked up and having poison put in (I think of anything that comes in by shot or iv as poison).

I have an appointment on Halloween with a surgeon in a neighboring city, set up by my gp. She, supposedly will do both the colonoscopy and the exploratory at the same time.
