I know BT2 is a new world, but I can't leave the old one without expressing my gratitude to the many members, especially senior members, who have done so much care for other people here. Neuromuscular/IMRM has always been a place for people to catch up and report on their day-to-day issues, and that support obviously continues, thanks to DocJohn. But one of the most important things that happened here is that people who have been living with their issues for a long time were able and willing, on a very frequent basis, to calm those of us with new diagnoses or weird new symptoms, with humor and patience. I am one of the many people who benefited from the voices of reason and compassion found here. The individuals are too many to name; thanks to them all, you know who you are.
I've been on the board for about 5 years, but don't post much, so I'm not a familiar name (also, I've re-registered; I forget who I used to be). My excuse for this is that I'm a writer, and if I do post, I end up talking endlessly for days instead of doing my work. I care very much about the people in NM, and I do check in fairly often; like everyone else, I was very distressed to find the boards gone. We'll get it cranking again. If anyone cares: I have moderate full-body myoclonus of unknown cause (there is no part of me that has not twitched), mostly controlled by Klonopin, about which I am having some second thoughts. With the help of the people on this board, I decided a long time ago to get on with my twitchy life. Excelsior. -- Catherine |
