I just have a quick question on absence seizures. I got a concussion nine months ago and now somebody mentioned absence seizures and I was surprised to hear that these might be happening. It sounds like what happens to me but is there any way to feel them coming on? Because I can feel when they start happening, also is it possible to "pull" yourself out of it if you are having one. I just didn't really know because both of these happen so I am not sure if they are really absence seizures or somthing else. Anybody know?

An absence seizure you wouldn't know is coming on. And I have no idea if you mean you could pull yourself out of a absence seizure.

But no you couldn't, but they ususally last so short a time it might seem like
it. Say 30 seconds or less at a time.

Thanks is there any other possibility of what it could be because they are short but most of the time I can kinda tell when theyre going to happen.

I recently found out I am probably having simple partial seizures not absence seizures. I dont know if theis is good or not but it seems to make more sense once I read throguh the symptoms more. I hope its better.

[B][COLOR="Navy"][B]I suffer from Absence Seizures since 16 years ago. They began on the day of my father's funeral, when I was 59 years old. I'm being treated by an excellent neurologist who lately has prescribed me ZEBINIX 800 mg (see Google please). Before he had prescribed me Depakine Chrono. I now have episodes of Absence one or two times/year. Last time was the day before yesterday and I was conducting my car. I went at a reasonable speed against a lamp-post (my wife was at my side and, happily, we didn't suffer any severe concussion or injury) the post broke down and, happilly, it didn't fell upon the car but at its side .The car was completely destroyed because I went with force against a wall. This happened very near my home (since this sickness began I have never driven too far from home). There are great number and caring fellow members here to assist you. Our shoulders are here for support in many ways. I too have epilepsy, but since December of 2010, I have not had one from a surgery I went through. Check the following forum there are a good number of others with epilepsy there.
