Confused New here and jumping right in

Hi;

I'm new here. I'm a 52-yr-old single female. I want to help as well as be helped , and aim to do both. I have a problem with the bottom of my feet and the palms of my hand itching like crazy. It's all I can do not to rip out my hair. (Figure of speech). Does anything help? I've tried itching cream and it only helps for a few seconds. Is there anything else I can do (besides scream. lol) to keep this under control?

Thanks a lot and I look forward to being a member of this community.

Mystery solved... just about "what can we help you with?" You're good...

I don't have itching hands and feet, but I've always heard it's a sign of money coming your way if your palms are itchin.

Have you been run through the medical mill yet? labs? allergic type testing? nerves?

When did it start?

Welcome to NT!

I'm so happy that you've decided to "jump right in."

I'm afraid that I don't know anything about your itching problem. However, I'm confident someone here will be able to help you. This place is full of the smartest, most amazing people. I don't think there's a neuro topic one could post on without members being able to weigh in with a mountain of information. It's just like Wikipedia - only accurate.

Cheers

i'm not sure i know anything about itching either.
do you have MS? if so it might be a sensory sx (symptom) and there are some meds available for that. you'd have to talk to your dr.

hope this helps.

I've been through MRIs so often, I've lost count. I've been through three EMGs and even a spinal tap (though none of that is for the itching problem). I've not talked to my neurologist about this yet. I was hoping to get an Over-the-counter solution to try first so I don't have to take yet one more pill. Anyway, I thank all of you for the warm welcome and the attempt at answering my problem.

How do I set up my signature here on NeuroTalk?

Hi, Rosepetals....

To make a signature, you click on User CP in the bar at the top left of any page.

The left hand menu will have edit a signature under the options choice.

Just follow the directions. There are size limits on graphics so if your picture should you choose one, is rejected it will probably be for the size.

Don't be afraid if you flub up...it doesn't hurt anything.
You can download from your computer, or put in a link to a service like Photobucket.
The text is just like the reply box here. Colors and sizes to choose from.

Sometimes I have to manipulate the siggie a few times to get what I want. I change my photos in a software program I have.
But there are free places to do that.
On the stickies at the Computer forum are links to help with that. Here is the link.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread7728.html

Enjoy your time here. Oh, and there is another feature...
at the bottom of the page on the index (forums home) is a skin choice. If you use it from there to change the appearance of your pages, it is saved. If you change skin appearance at other locations, it may not be saved. Look at the choices...there are several. If you have any problems don't hesitate to ask.
They will be seen faster at the Computer forum:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum36.html

I am only "fair" at computer things. The real experts are at the Computer forum regularly!

try the peripheral neuropathy forum, and consider that the itching may be an aberrant pain syndrome.
