Question I am new too. Injury left me with ON and more.

Hello. I am new and thankful that I found this community. If nothing else, it helps to know that there are others out there looking for the same answers I am. Last February a large box weighing about 50# fell about 12 feet and landed on my back while I was bent over. The headache started immediately. I have muscle damage in my back which gives me pain every day. It's never the same, but always there. Then there is the neck pain and the headache. MRI's, xrays, nerve studies and a diagnosis of occipital neurolgia. A nerve block lasted 2 weeks, a nerve cauterization lasted 6 weeks. The relief was for the occipital headache. Still had the tension headache. I am concerned with all the meds I am taking. Now seeing a physitrist. He has prescribed topamax for the headache. Doing the research, the side affects can be ugly! Has anyone else used topamax for ON? I also take fiorocet, darvon, ibuprophen, flexeril, lidacain patches & use a tens for my back.

Thanks for being there!

Welcome

I have had migraines that seemingly have dissipated as my pain pattern changed and went way down...

Not easy to live with. Those headaches would put me to bed and make me puke.

There's lots of info here and people who do understand. I hope you find some morsels that helps ease your pain.

Here's the ON forum:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum105.html

I look forward to seeing you around.

Hi Cindy Ann and Welcome to NeuroTalk!

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. There are others here who have experience with some of the meds you listed.

There is lots of useful information in the ON forum that Broken Wings posted about.

Take care and I hope you'll recover soon.
