Default Mum in ICU for 4 weeks

Hi everyone,

Im glad I found this forum and I hope all here have got some type of comfort in knowing there are people around the world that are going through what we are.

I would like to thank you all in advance and hope that someone can give me some advise on my mother's condition (MG). She has been on a ventilator for 4 weeks and was getting stronger day by day but has got a urinary track infection that has knocked her back a little.

the biggest problem we have here in cairns (far north qeensland, australia) is that we dont have a neurologist so all advise has been given over the phone by the nearest neuro which is 400 klms away.

I know its hard to advise on a time where being on a ventilator, but is there a time of no return?

Again thanks in advance
Tony

Welcome to NeuroTalk, Tony !

I am SO very sorry to hear about everything that you and your mother are going through right now! I hope things start looking up soon and that your mum gets the help she needs!

I have no experiences with MG so can't help you there unfortunately but if you ever want to talk, i'm here for you.

Here's the link to the MG forum - you'll meet many great people there who will hopefully be able to offer some advice:

Take care and please send your mum my love.

Alison

Welcome to NT

We're here for you. You're very brave in the face of "no return."

I'm sure the MG forum will have a lot of info for you.

Here is a song "Angels Calling at my Door." I found it very comforting and true through my loved one's passing.

Peace to all...
