Default venipuncture errors

I'm new to this site and am here on behalf of a client who has CRPS disabling her left arm after a venipuncture. The case is in litigation and we have a phlebotomist expert. The LPN who did the venipuncture used the basilic vein site and made 3 punctures, all of which caused the client severe and immediate pain. The basilic vein is the least preferred of all the antecubital sites because of its proximity to the antebrachial cutaneous nerve. I was wondering if any members had a similar error committed that caused their condition. Did your lawyer have success with the claim that the basilic site should not have been used? I was also wondering if any members have their condition after a venipuncture that didn't seem to involve any error.

Welcome to NT

Anything is possible but you have to prove that's it is the cause for it. Sometimes that's a hard thing to do.

Just Googled this. Has some interesting notes at first glance.

Good luck...
