Default SCS implanted 9 weeks ago

Hi Everyone!

I have had back pain for 5 years and recently had a SCS implanted. It was working well, but now I am feeling sensation (violent muscle clamps on my abdomen) where it shouldn't be. The rep tried to re-program, but only gave me many of these muscle clamps (not cramps. This is much bigger).

She had a floro. xray done and the leads looked in the right place. The dr. now wants to have a regular xray done. The level it was implanted at should not allow any sensations in my abdomin at all.

I heard the word "revision" and can guess what this means. Are revisions like the original surgery? The rep said they would have to open both scars again.

I am a bit down right now because it was working really great for 3 weeks, and I then began to get the vibrations in my ribs. I went for reprogramming then, and the rep was able to redirect the sensation back to where it should be (on the back of me, not the front...and down lower on my back).

Anybody have the above experience, or have had revisions and can explain how extensive that might be?

Thank you all for being here!

Susan

Hi Susan and welcome to NT!

I'm sorry that you are worried about a possible setback in your treatment. SCS implants are a popular topic on the Forum and I'm sure other members will be along who can offer some insight into your situation.

I just wanted to welcome you to our community and wish you well.

Cheers

Welcome to NT

I can understand your frustration right now. You will probably have that "revision" and things will be good again. Sometimes it takes more than the norm for some of us. I guess we're special like that

You'll find lots of caring people willing to share helpful info.

It's great to know you're not alone.

We're here for you.
