Default I am new too

Hello
I have dealt with several autoimmune problems for several years. Only during the last year my "lupus fog" began to get much worse. I have very poor short term memory, some "chunks" of long term memory lost, neuropathies, dementia, aphasia, and now....herniated discs (thoracic and cervical).

I have had mri's...brain and spine, CT's of lungs and brain, Genetic tests, lumbar puncture, and a zillion labs. So far, there is no sure cause of any of the neurological symptoms....everyone is just guessing.

I found this site while searching for possible autoimmune connection with the disc problems. Anyone here have any ideas about this....or good places to look for information? I am starting physical therapy for the cervical discs next week. They are pushing on the spinal cord...I think he said?

Any information will be extremely helpful.

Thanks, Fran

Hello Fran and Welcome to NeuroTalk. I can relate to a lil cog fog and I have suffered from herniated L4-L5 discs for years. I'm glad you found us, as you'll find alot of good info in our many forums. Make yourself at home and let us know if you need anything.

Thanks to you all. Unfortunately, this is a "little bit" late since I forgot I was here!

Welcome to NT

So sorry you have so many things to deal with. It's hard to keep yourself going and keep things straight with memory problems.

You probably keep a diary and calendar. It's a good reference to have for many things.

There's lots of info here and lots of caring people.

I have bulging and herniated discs too. I don't know if autoimmune and disc problems have any correlation, other than pain is very distracting and can cause lots of problems.

Hope to see you around the board.
