Smile Peripheral neuropathy specialist in Austin or Texas

I have had PN for 1.5 years and am ready to get serious about the cause/cure. I'm willing to go elsewhere for a really good PN specialist but, of course, thought it would be good to ask this forum if there is such a person locally.

Hi there. I went to a website that will find doctors of any speciality in whatever zip code you put in. So I looked for Peripheral Neuropathy specialists in the following zip code. 78710

I got the following:

http://www.healthline.com/doctors/pe...tors?zip=78710

Many names came up.

At least it's a start. There are a few neuros there.

Good Luck

Melody

Welcome MaryB1953

I'm new here myself, and can tell you that you will find a lot of good advice and support at the Peripheral Neuropathy Board.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum20.html

You might check out the Neuropathy Association. Their member doctors are generally fairly knowledgeable in PN, and I have found them to be the most compassionate. They only have one member in the Austin area, but there are others within a 3-4 hour drive:

http://www.neuropathy.org/site/PageS...e=phy_us_texas

My neurologist is a member of The Neuropathy Association. He is 4 hours away, but it is worth the distance to have one who stays current on PN issues. I tried one locally, but all he seemed interested in doing was prescribing meds. I wanted more than that.

I lived in Austin for a while. You are in a beautiful part of the country.
