Red face Hey, I'm new!

Hello!

My name is Sasha Midori (call me either name; I'm used to it) and I'm 17 years old. For the past five months I've been struggling with Post Concussive Syndrome and I recently noticed that this forum has entire TBI/PCS section, which is exciting!

I hope to offer a lot of insight and support to others struggling with PCS, while at the same time I'd like to receive help on how to cope with the symptoms.

Hi Sasha and welcome to NT!

I'm sorry you're a member of our brain boo boo club. We all know it's tough.

I hope that you are getting thorough care. Many of us have discovered that PCS patients rarely get much medical attention without demanding it.

Consequently, it's important to understand your condition and treatment options. Some excellent sources for further reading include: the Brain Injury Association of America www.biausa.org; www.tbiguide.com and our own TBI forum here on NT http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum92.html If the curling (I love curling) means you're Canadian or Scottish, you might want to check out their equivalents of the biausa, the Brain Injury Association of Canada www.biac-aclc.ca or www.headway.org.uk

All the Brain Injury Associations have regional chapters. They are a great resource for information, local support groups and advocacy. If all that's too much reading, there are a number of excellent Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) videos on You Tube. (Who knew it wasn’t just idiots surfing on cars?)

Cheers
