Hello, I am new to the forum and I am going in for a two level fusion/discectomy on Oct 19th. I was wondering if anyone had any advice to give me for pre-post op care or what to expect during and after surgery. What is the recovery time etc...

I am 4 weeks post op. Had an ACDF on C4-5 and had a previous fusion 13 years ago. I probably do not remember, however I think I felt better after my first surgery. The surgeon I had is excellent. I have pain in both upper arms and neck. I have difficulty swallowing large pills and must cut my food up and chew a ridiculous amount of time. Is this normal? Numbness on chin. I will be 60 this year and I thought old age might contribute to my issues. Thanks
