Default So glad to be here!

I am so happy to have found this site! Let me introduce myself, I am a 61 yr old married woman with two children....a son and a daughter and I have three grandchildren....2 boys, 7 and 9 and a grand daughter who is 3. I married my high school sweatheart and we have been together almost 50 yrs. My disaster was on Sept 15. I had just come out from a shower and was brushing my grand daughters hair. We were getting ready to go to her gymnastics class. When I lifted my head and stood up straight I felt a little dizzy and out of it and the next thing I remember I woke up on my husbands lap on the floor covered in vomit. My 3 yr old grand daughter actually had the sense to run an get my husband and she told him I fell. That is the extent of what I remember for over a month. I was taken to an area hospital and then medflighted into Boston. I remained in ICU for 3 weeks, neuro floor for over a week and then to a Rehab Hospital for another month. Things are coming along .....I have PT, OT and speech therapy. I am finished with OT but am still working on PT and speech as one side of my tongue is paralyzed causing speech and swallowing issues. I hope to be able to go back to work but I have this continuing vertigo issue that we are trying to correct. Has anyone else had this? It is driving me crazy! I can't drive until I get rid of this. And of course I am still exhausted which is so frustrating. I have a real personal question that I would like to talk with anyone who has had the same issue. It concerns sex. It is a little tough to talk about as I have never hed to before, and am waiting for my Dr appt which is some distance away.
It is so helpful to know that you are all here and I look forward to connecting with all of you.
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Pegsshur
