Default Hashimoto's Encephalapathy

I have been on weekly IVIG for almost a year. Although it has helped, my kidneys are beginning to show signs of problems. I recently started Rituimab. Anyone else out there using it? Does Medicare pay for it?

Hi, just wanted to say Hi and Welcome.

My husband was on IVIG once a month for his neuropathy for a long TIME. They discontinued it because they didn't feel it helped much.

I hope you have better luck.

Take care,

Melody

Default I too have Hashi's! It's not fun?

Two forums to check out here are:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum44.html for Autoimmune issues [Hashi's is one?] and
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum20.html The Peripheral Neuropathy forum and numbness, a Hashi's symptom could also be another set of issues as well.
As for IVIG? Go up to the dark blue line at the top of the page and there is a 'search' feature? Click that on and insert IVIG in the blank space and go!
Read away! IVIG is used for many neuro issues, immune issues and hereditary issues... It's got a lot of bang for it's buck, and it's buck IS expensive!
Do you mean Rituximab? For your other treatment? What about Synthroid? You need replacement therapies of some sort...Go to one or the other of these forums after reading the 'stickies'? And then pelt us all away with questions!
You mite talk to your doc about drinking more water or what else is going on? Get copies of your blood work for the last year, your kidneys shouldn't be having troubles if you've been hydrated and on the right vites.... I've been on IVIG for 6+ years and havn't had problems yet? Only because I truly read and learned about how to prepare before, during and after infusions!
Learn and then truly ask questions away! !!!!!s - j
