Default Help with PCS in 13 year old

I just found this forum and am hopeful that I will be able to discover some answers and get advice here.
My 13 year old son was injured while in a soccer game on May 1. He fell over the back of another player and hit the turf on the small of his back first followed by his head snapping back and hitting next. The acute symptom at the field was his back. Noone noticed him losing consciousness and he was coherent at the time. However, he was transported by ambulance due to the back injury. He was in excrutiating pain from the back until 9 days later when he was admitted to the hospital and treated with IV meds to stop the spasms.
As soon as the back pain was resolved, he started reporting headache pain and acting depressed. At this time, it became apparent that he had no recollection of the entire second half of the soccer game when he was injured.
Within a couple of days he had excrutiating, unrelenting head pain 24 hours a day. His vision became blurred and he was unable to decipher words. His balance and coordination became completely off and he reported constant "spinning" of the room. He is unable to walk due to this.
He was diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome and told to take Tylenol 3's and rest. Time would heal.
Unfortunately the head pain has not improved. He spends his days/nights in a recliner moaning.
The neuro prescribed Neurontin 300 mg. daily. He has been on this for four days and has yet to see any reduction in pain.
HELP! His symptoms seem so severe. I have not known any other concussion sufferer with such severe symptoms.
I am not sure where to turn...
