Default New member, have question about posting

Hello Everyone!

I've only taken a peek at some of the topics..... but it appears that you all seem like a rather friendly group! ~'.'~

I was wondering if someone, perhaps the moderator themself, could answer a question about posting. I understand that this is basically a <peer to peer> forum, but after reading through the rules, I did not see anything definitive with regard to a poster stating their healthcare profession. Does this forum prohibit a poster from posting their profession anywhere on this site?

Thanks so much! I look forward to being an active member here!

Bryanna

just no diagnosis or solicitation
dont hesitate to check with me or another of the mod or admin members if you are not sure about a particular post you want to make

Well hello to you both!

Chemar, thanks so much for your quick, well informed reply!

I was wondering if this website has a "dental forum"? I was not able to locate one here, perhaps I missed it?

Many health sites have every conceivable topic related to physical, mental and emotional health, but rarely do I see the topic of dental issues!

I am not a dentist, but I currently have 30 years of vast clinical experience in the dental profession. I understand that this site is not intended for the advertisement or solicitation of ones business...... that's perfectly fine with me! I presently have some spare time and if there isn't a dental forum already in existence here, I was wondering if I could start one? It would be just like the other topics here.......peer to peer discussions, where I could simply offer my professional insights related to the topics posted, for others to discuss.

I didn't want to assume I could start this thread and state my profession until I got permission.. ~'.'~

Thanks!
Bryanna

Smile Hi Bryanna!

I just wanted to welcome you to NeuroTalk!

You know, you are right about the dental forums. I've been all over the web, and I don't recall having seen one. It sure would be helpful from time to time, especially to me. I'm going through a strange and major dental problem right now. But seeing as this is more a neurological site, I don't know if the administrators would think a dental forum appropriate. But you could always go to "forum feedback" and ask!

Wishing you the best!

hi again Bryanna

well...altho we are called NeuroTalk...as you have likely seen we have a lot of other things that we discuss here too...so tooth talk is sure acceptable

we have actually had a couple of interesting threads around the various forums related to teeth and one that I started on the Tourette Syndrome board too...as teeth and tics are something we have a lot of experience with in our family

If you go to the Community and Forum feedback board and look at the top sticky threads, you will see one in which our admin, DocJohn, invites requests for new forums here. Maybe add your request there and see what he feels about having a dental forum here
