Hi
I have just had a tumour removed from my sacrum. The operation has affected me both physically and emotionally. I have to have another operation to do the infusion, I find that incomprehendable right now. I have a 10 centimeter cut in my stomach. It has been 3 weeks since the op and I am still in alot of pain. How am I going to get through another operation, any response would be so appreciated. ![]() |

![]() Sometimes, just a 'hug' can say it all.... You've come to a wonderful place to get support....GENUINE care! People here are so down to earth.....it's a wonderful 'refuge' to come to....just to help sort out your thoughts, if nothing else.... The first thing that came to my heart when I saw your post was, if we can somehow 'see' past the medical turmoil for the moment and just maybe try to visualize a new chapter, as tho this were a book of your life. ....You've just been thru a huge medical procedure. Without knowing the details involved, I'm going to try and center in on the fact that you had a 'tumor' removed.......wow. That tumor did NOT belong there...and now it's gone. That helps to visualize your 'new' chapter......you've had that ugly thing removed and it no longer will be a part of your life. I'm thinking (putting myself in your shoes..... ![]() I hope your doctor has provided you with the best possible pain relief options there are. "Ice" became my very close friend while I healed from the incision(s).....a nice cozy fluffy blanket and pillows were always nearby.....and we're never too 'old' for a good ol' soft 'teddy bear'...... ![]() Yes, you still have the other surgery coming up, but try not to see it as an aweful thing. It's the 'other' part of what is involved to get your life back. What do you have for a support system there with you? Good family, friends? Is the pain you are feeling unbearable? If so, have you been in contact and does your Dr realize this.....were you told the pain would linger like this?..... If it helps, then talk about what has you frightened the most? If so, does this lead to actual anxiety and/or panic attacks....? Peek around the different forums and make yourself feel comfortable with any area that you feel you'd like to address....there is an actual Post Traumatic Forum here....and so many others.... People here will embrace you and help focus on what will bring you the most relief.....but talking about our fears seems to really work medicinally.... Just know, people here have been thru some of the most frightening health issues there are...so you are not alone. We do whatever it takes to try and stay on the 'brighter' side of our issues. You've got Friends.... We're here, Rae ![]() |
