Hello, I am happy to have found this forum! I have had several spinal fusions within the last five years (2 cervical and a 5 level lumbar/sacral). The lumbar/sacral fusion was in February of 2009 and the second cervical fusion was in December of 2009. I quit working in February of this year because I realized that all I was doing was managing pain in order to work. Since then, I have decreased my activity level significantly and have been able to get off Lortab but I am still taking Tylenol and Flexeril for significant muscle spasm and pain. I have decided to pursue having an SCS put in for my low back and hip pain and, possibly one for my neck in the future. I have been using a TNS unit for 5 1/2 years but it doesn't help as much as it used to. Actually, it never worked for my neck pain, but was helpful for the low back. The doctor who did the 5 level fusion is no longer practicing so I am looking for a doctor who is very experienced with SCS's. My hope and prayer is that getting an SCS (or two) will decrease my pain level to the point that I can increase my activity level and work again. Thanks!
Terrieg

Hi Terrieg,
Welcome! I am sorry to hear that you are in so much back pain.
That is a hard one to take. I have been there. I just wanted to welcome you. I see you have been given a place to start looking for answers, so I wish you luck and feel better soon.
Nice to meet you.
