Confused Hey everyone! Any help would be awesome...

Hey everybody!
Wanted to start off by saying how awesome it is that this place is here for people to talk, share and fight the isolation one can feel with a neurological condition.

Anyway, I have been experiencing a rapid decline in my ability to think, remember, reason, imagine, you name it. Starting with an unusual difficulty in concentrating, in just three months it has developed in to an inability to analyze or focus on anything at all, even trying to talk has become a problem.
I can feel my self twitching when I do have thoughts, and can even feel my brain twitching! I feel like every day my abilities are less, and I am spaced out and completely brain dead. Also, I have noticed that I can not direct my eyes to look at any point, or edge of an object at all. They keep sliding!! It's as if my eyes refuse to fully work together and actually see any one point in space. When I try they vibrate or twitch! I have become extremely sensitive to any kind of chemical, and am dominated by no higher thought than food.

I was prescribed Bupropion (Wellbutrin), 90 days ago, and although it has helped me be less emotional, my concentration has not improved at all, and I feel like the twitching might have gotten worse.

Last October I suffered a drug-induced psychotic break, and a 2 week episode of mania followed, both which have never happened before or since. I fear that some neurological damage was sustained that has triggered a degeneration. Or perhaps it's my own thinking, and improper eye tricks (that i thought were meditations) that have caused me to lose touch with my self. If any of this resonates or if anyone has any ideas, I would be so eternally grateful!

I'm impressed with your articulation, given all of this. Have you had an MRI? If not, I would get one, and the sooner, the better.

Good luck...

Hi Gambit and welcome. You have come to the right place and there will be somebody here to point you in the right direction. Have you seen a neurologist? What have the doctors said about your symptoms?

Smile Hello, gambit00!

I do not understand all of this you are experiencing, though do know that with the visual problems and disturbances that are not something that is a 'usual' for you, then I would not hesitate to see a Neruologist for at least a consult, and then from there find out your options, if anythign at all, you would benifit by having some peace fo mind and reassurane.
Hope that you contintue to let us know how things are going for you . Peace and Hope I extend to you - 'I.H.'

Crazy Cost of neurologist/MRI?

The only doctor I have had is a psych who thought that I was going through depression and perhaps ADD. I have wanted/needed to go back and talk to him, but his schedule is full for another 3 weeks! Also, I'm just a self-supporting student and can't afford another psych visit, just to be told that he doesn't know what's going on. Anybody know how much a consultation and MRI might cost? Are there any government programs that could help? I'm also trying to find out if a focusing stimulant like wellbutrin can actually make me focus less, and kill my memory, exactly the opposite of what it's supposed to be doing! Anyway, thanks guys for listening!

Heart someone who understands!!!!(not an insult to anyone else)

Hi gambit!
I read your posting and I can identify with everything you said! I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder several years ago, when I was only 16. well, actually, my first diagnosis was "psychotic". That Dr. was just frustrated with me, and didn't know what was wrong. The first real diagnosis I got was Bipolar Disorder. I was treated successfully for this for a few years. Then, I changed Doctors, for financial reasons, and had another suicide attempt. Was hospitalized for a short period, and got a new diagnosis (schizoaffective).
I soon met my husband after this hospitilization and was pretty stable for the next seven years. Which brings us up to date. I recently had another episode, I returned from the hospital Tue. of this week. My medication was adjusted, and I'm feeling pretty normal now(all things considered).
The episode recently, was the worst I have ever experienced. It was reminiscent of my first episode. I was very depressed, antisocial, staring, completely absorbed in thought about one thing, and delusional.
Stress was a huge factor in the onset of my symptoms. I just got internet and I got it for the sole purpose of discussing my problems (and getting info.) The stress that sent me to the hospital involves my husband and another man. I've never cheated on my husband. And NEVER would. But the attention I was getting from this other man was extremely stressful to me, and caused me to question the love I have for my husband. It's a very sticky situation for a reason I am not willing to share. And very hurtful. And very STRESSFUL!!!!

Default Sorry

A GRAIN OF SALT--That poem was written because of this post. I'm sorry for blameing my recent episode on someone. I actually loved the attention, and I was going to go to the hospital regardless of what anyone said or did. I was about due for a hospitilization. It had been 7 years since the last. So sorry.
Love,
-Cgirl-
