Default Chiari 1 Malformation or crazy???

I was recently told I have "mild Chiari 1 Malformation". I don't know where to begin...but I will start with the first serious problem. I had sudden onset of weakness on left side. I thought I was having a stroke. I then had increased problems with my memory. The worst part was a headache that I didn't think possible. I feel like the right side of my head is going to blow off. I notice that I have right ear pain and pressure with the headaches with dizziness and nausea. I also have recently been having seizures and was placed on Dilantin and Topomax. I have been hospitalized multiple times. During these hospital stays I was basically told I need a psych evaluation. I kept trying to get the neurologist to listen to me but had no success. I am now at my wits end because of the terrible symptoms I am having and I just don't know what to do. I am suppose to go to U of M very soon but I am scared that the doctor there won't here me and truly listen to me. Any suggestions?

hello and welcome to NT.

i don't know anything about chiari malformations but i know we have forums that specifically deal with that.

it's a really terrible feeling when your dr isn't listening to you.
it might help your new dr to keep a sx (symtom) journal.
it also might not hurt to get the psych eval just to be able to document that you're fine in that dept. then they have to listen. this is just my opinion and you'll have to judge for yourself.

i'm sorry for all you're going thru.
i hope your new dr can help you. don't quit advocating for yourself and take one day at a time.
