Hello tgcasey, and welome to NeuroTalk.

I'm sorry to read you have this horrid spinal disease, also known as Lichtheim's disease.

May I suggest you check out our Vitamin Forum.

Subacute Combined Degeneration is related to Vit B12 deficiency, and refers to degeneration of the posterior and lateral columns of the spinal cord .... as a result of vitamin B12 deficiency. It is usually associated with pernicious anemia.

Here's a link to our Vitamin Forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum49.html

Do post over there. I'm sure you'll find lots of information about Vit B12 deficiency, and you also have the option of making you own thread to enquire about your concerns.

Good luck, I hope you get the answers that you seek.
