Default Gudday from New Zealand

I am a forty eight year old mother of two young children and loving husband of twenty five years. I'm searching the web trying to find an answer for my strange symptoms - either neurological or ear related, not sure which. But I have sporadic bursts of metallic sounding clicking in my ear that come on for no apparent reason day and night. This noise in my left ear is not your typical tinnitus as it is always accompanied by my left eye moving exactly in time with the noise. If the noise is loud it makes my vision jump much more than if it is quiet and when it gets fast it becomes like crickets or static and my vision jumps more wildly.
It makes me feel physically ill when at its worst so that I vomit and it makes me stumble and lose balance.
I have had 3 MRI in the last seven years (that's how long I've had this) and two CT scans, hundreds of blood tests, visits with neurologists and ENT but no one has ever heard of this or knows what causes it.
I recently read about simple partial seizures and realised I must have been having these for most of my life but I didn't know what they were and wasn't able to explain the strange feelings. I've had the déjà vu dreamlike feeling and also some sudden strange feelings like waves of dread that come over me out of the blue only lasting thirty seconds or so. I also have them where I go into a trance and my vision goes out of focus and for twenty or thirty seconds I can't shift my eyes from what I'm staring at but I'm aware of everything around me and can speak. A newer one I've started in the last seven and a half years is a wave of absolute euphoria that rises up from my stomach and spreads over me like a wave and then kind of explodes in my head in a wonderful feeling of extreme happiness.
I've never so much as smoked a cigarette or got drunk in my life but I imagine this must be what a "high" feels like.
I am now wondering if these noises in my ear and shaking vision could be another kind of partial seizure? Has anyone ever experienced this?
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has any ideas.
Thanks for reading such a long post!

Hello and welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

Perhaps you could ask over on the Epilepsy Forum
The members there may have some ideas about your symptoms and whether they could be seizure related.

Considering you have mentioned the problems with your ears, eyes and balance, it may be worth checking out the link that I'll post below about the vestibular system.

http://vestibular.org/understanding-...order/symptoms

I hope you find some answers.
Take care

Dont know if this is the same issue but, I had that cricket like metallic clicking and found out so did my husband.
For us, it turned out to be the electronic equipment in our home. The way we figured it out was, when we had a power outage 2 winters ago, of 5 days, we had no electricity so no DVR on our TV, no computers, no laptops or tablets or cell phone. All clicking stopped for both of us. When power came back...sure enough, it all came back. I know it sounds crazy, and I thought It was me because I have some hypersensitivity issues from a brain infection(Lyme disease). I am hyper sensitive to vibrations, movement, light, sounds and I also have partial complex seizures. I Cannot tolerate banks of fluorescent lites in malls and office buildings, for example.

The worst culprit was the tv cable/DVR box, of which we have three...we had them serviced and replaced and still the same sound....the technician said people did complain of that weird metallic clicking in their heads and he said the disc inside the DVR where shows are being copied to is always "ON" and it did make a vibration/ sound. He said we heard it more because we have a very quiet house with no children or streetnoise. We often unplug our cable boxes as we watch TV only sporaticly.

Best of luck figuring it out....
D.
