Question Peripheral neuropathy

I do have another question if anyone has had the same problem. I have been on gabapentin for two weeks now. I have not seen any difference in my pain level since I started taking it. How long does this medication take to work? Should I probably get another type of med? I will of course see my doctor and tell him, but has anyone had this problem? If so, what drug worked best for their peripheral neuropathy including pain meds? I also take Percocet and find that it helps somewhat some of the time, and at other times, it works fine.
