Hi, my name is Nesca and I have joined this site to read about others that might be having the same condition as I.
I have just received the readings of my MRI and it is scary! the Impression is: Severe cervical spondylosis at C3-4 through C6-7 with degenerative changes superimposed on borderline developmental canal narrowing resulting in severe central canal stenosis at C3-4 through C5-6 and associated with myelomacia within the cord at C4-5 and C5-6. Bilateral degenerative foraminal narrowing, severe at C3-4 through C5-6. I have a highly qualified NS and am to see him on Tuesday the 18th. I know this report is not good, but would want to know if anyone else has had/has heard of anything of this sort. Also, what would the whole thing entail? Was told that maybe some injections... pain management... possible fusion... I don't know anyone that I can talk to about this. I know I have to hear the NS' suggestions but would love to hear from others as well. Hoping to hear from you soon... |

Just call me Indy-pain becuse I live in Indiana and I'm in pain daily. I did post my results and gave a brief summary of how I fractured my Cervical. I have been viewing this site since 2009, I finally decided to become a member because I have been reading about alot of people who has simular injuries and I see this site does help members to understand their health problems. I have gotten to the point I need to undestand clearly what is wrong with my spine. Yes, my 2 Neuro"s, Pain Mangement Spec, EMG Spec. Physical Therapist and PCP have told me several medical results but no one will actually break it down. One Neuro say's surgery on C4-C5, one say's no, my PCP say's no and Pain Management Spec have given 2 injection in my lower back but the surgery for my cervical is up to me until then I take oral steriods. I'm so confused, I have heard good results and bad results.
Thanks for reading. |

So sorry Indy-Pain and Nesca. back pain is miserable pain. I do understand that. Nesca, I have some of those same "bad" findings in my cervical spine/neck. Yours may be a little worse. I had epidurals X 3 that helped my neck and arms and my lower back some too. My surgeons do not suggest surgery for my neck and back, even though I have 4 bulges in the low back. "Bulges" not necessarily a surgical condition. I had too many times at one time so I helped one and hurt the other at times. You have to know your own body and take control of it yourself. You do need to understand those readings to some degree. Some things do indicate you need surgery and some things don't need surgery. A good surgeron and a second opinion should help you out with that decision. It took a while, years actually. These things helped me. I had [hysical therapy. Most things helped and I did not my therapist. Aqua therapy, Kinesio Tape, e-stim, hot packs, myofascial release, yoga, stretches, breathing techniques and relaxation techniques. You have to start somewhere... I also had these things that helped: Oversized tennis balls, Miracle Ball set, TheraCane, Lidoderm patches. LED and infrared therapy pads. They helped me tremendously. They're expensive but worth it. They did help me the most. Turned things around. I'm now able to do regular exercise and I'm trying to figure out what I can do, and then trying to figure out how I'm going to make myself do them. ![]() ![]() This site helped me a lot to understand things, to know I'm not alone, and to vent about all the bad things that go along with finding good medical attention. It's a jungle out there. Keep looking... So many things. I'm doing much better now and hope that everyone here finds things to help them. Would be willing to share if you want to ask about any of these. You can have more than one problem causing you problems. It can get complicated. Writing things down for a while may help you see what you're doing and can be a help to you later one when you're deciding what helps. I graded things as a postive or a negative. I tried so many things.
