Smile 36yr old, vp shunt, aquedcut of sylvius stenosis

In November, I had a headache that lasted 8 days. It may have lasted longer had I not been urged to go to the ER immediately by friends. I spent thanksgiving week in the hospital and had endoscopic surgery of the 3rd ventricle, for a stenosis. I was told that CSF was putting pressure on my optic nerve and therefore that is where the vision problems came from. i had the worst headaches ever. I was convinced it was a stroke or aneurysm. is it normal to have this kind of surgery and be released home after 2 days? i haven't seen my neurologist since the surgery! Because of the weather and one surgery he had to perform, he has canceled my follow ups. My next aptt is March 18th. should I be concerned? I hate sunny days, they make me sick. The light is painful to look at. I feel like a vampire, as i prefer to be in the dark and hiss at bright lights. I can only describe it as "sunlight makes me crazy." My eyesight is terrible in it and my head starts to ache. Last month, I started to hear a whir...apparently i am the only one that hears it. It happened at night and during the day 24/7 for all of last month. I still can't say what it was. I'm guessing the sound was in my head. Could it have been the shunt? Because my neurosurgeon never spoke to me after the surgery only to tell my husband that I had stopped breathing in the OR. hence the blood i was coughing up and the sore throat after surgery because I was told i had to be intubated. My other concern is did anyone else out there have hallucinations after surgery? For a few weeks, i couldn't distinguish reality from not. I even "dreamed" of things that didn't happen but were so real to me that i swore up and down that they had.
