Question oxycontin discontinued

With the drug Oxycodone, the generic of Oxycontin, being no longer manufactured, has anybody feedback on what others are using as a substitute. My prescription medical coverage covers generics only. The medical community doesn’t seem aware of the problem and have no immediate answers. I am currently taking 240 mg. daily.

When a generic is no longer available, or not approved yet, most insurances will pay for brand. Today, they have TIERS, meaning you may have to pay a higher copay, if lower tiers's drugs don't work for you. Or you may have to get a prior authorization, meaning your doctor faxes medical necessity for you to have the brand.

Insurances all differ, so you have to contact yours for details.
