Hi dkshadler ~ Well, since you're a first time applicant for SSD, be prepared to probably be denied. Most first time applicants are. Not ALL, but most are. After you've been denied once, you can hire an attorney on contingency and he'll probably get you the disability. Then he gets paid out of your back wages.

Best of luck ~ Let us know how you come out. God bless. Hugs, Lee

Hi there!! I am also new to the SSD process and half way into it I guess. It is a long process, so patience is a must. I applied in November 2010 and just recently was sent to SS doctors a wek ago, so I have heard that this could be good or it could be bad. I have an attorney for my WC case who will also handle SSD if denied. So depending on your disability and your doctor's information it may go smoothly for you. But good luck and feel free to contact anyone here!! they have been a great source of support for me in the last 3 or so weeks I have been on here!
