Default Ssd

Hello Everyone,
Just registered to the site in hopes of helping my brother. He is in his 50s and lives with my ailing father, 88. To make a long story short, my brother has never held down a job and is entirely dependent on my father for income. We know my brother has mental health issues (don't know what) and I am investigating the possibility of his qualifying for SSD. I have learned the first step is to find a doctor with SSD experience to have him diagnosed. Does anyone know of this type of physician in the vicinity of Riverside, CA? Many thanks.

Smile Welcome!

Hello doubleringer!
It's good to have you
I'm so very sorry about the situation which brings you here however....
You'll find much support and helpful information here at NT.

Here is the Social Security Disability forum....

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...aysprune=&f=28

There are some very helpful and knowledged folks who will be happy to help you in your quest. I'm sure if you post this question over there, you'll get pointed in the right direction.

There are also some great forums here for mental health issues if you'd care to take a gander......just scroll thru the main menu and check a few out! One VERY helpful thing about this forum is the section at the top of each forum called the 'stickies'......this is where pertinent info can be found.

It's good of you to be looking out for your father and brother....

Wishing you the best
Rae

Default Thank you

Thanks to everyone for all the welcome notes and good wishes.

However, after a bit of research on the net, I have learned that my brother does not qualify for SSD. Actually, he may qualify for SSI providing I can have him diagnosed. So, now I am trying to find an MD in my vicinity (Riverside, CA) that will work with us to diagnose and fill out the appropriate SS forms.

Many Thanks...
