Default axonal polyneuropathy

Hello.
I'm a 52 year old male radio announcer that had to quit the 15 year morning show because my feet got to the point that they felt like they were going to blow off my legs at any moment. It's impossible to do radio, when most of your brain power is focusing on your exploding feet. I'm diagnosed with:

"axonal polyneuropathy severe in degree electrically of unknown etiology"

So.....I'm waiting for short-term disability to do something. I'm VERY worried about it. It was denied quickly until more medical information was gathered.
I wasn't worried about it until recently. It's been 6 weeks now, and I found out yesterday that they had JUST received the information and it would take up to 5 business days to process. REALLY? 5 business days? After I've waited without income for 6 weeks, and after paying on that policy for 15 straight years??

I also have two severe herniated disks in my neck, and degenerative disk disease. I'm scheduled to see a neurosurgeon at Cleveland Clinic late in April.

That is my story.

Just wanted to introduce myself.
