NeuroTalk Support Groups - My mother has Neuropathy! Is a Hysterectomy to blame??

Well she goes to this surgeon and calls me and tells me she needs a full blown Hysterectomy. I was a little leary about it but she seemed pretty confident. I live in AZ and she lives in Ohio so we dont get to see each other a lot so I wasnt there to make sure everything was ok but she has been with my dad since they were 15 yrs old and hes always taken good care of her.
Ok so she has this surgery and I went home to Ohio to help her bc i know this is a pretty big surgery. The moment I saw her she looked so different. This doctor took her smile and her glow. She has never been right since this surgery and always said she wish she never would have had it because she just doesnt feel right.
6 months later she starts showing signs of Neuropathy!!! And its been going on for 2 years now. She said her feet and legs hurt so bad. That it feels like shes been walking on them forever. She said her lips are on fire. She described them as the chappest lips you can imagine and take the hottest hot sauce you can imagine and put that on.
I think the constitant pain is making her crazy. She was suppose to get an evaluation done and she didnt.
Does anyone know of anyone that this has happen to as a result from a hystercotomy???
Does this make sense to anyone? How does a perfectly healthy women go from being completley healthy to looking like a very sick person?
Does anyone know if there is a way to stop her Burning Mouth Syndrome? Is the Mayo Clinic the only way to get real help bc all of these drs she goes too are saying shes a "medical mystery" with her symptoms.

Hi I do undrestand your concerns
I have often wondered if my full hyster op made things worse for me which I had in 2009. Had a begnin tumor everything got worse. I was told I would have ease of all bodily pain and my feet would not hur,t due to the weight AND THE ADENOMYOSIS I should loose in time I cannot take HRT I have tried holistic to try and get my groove back but nothing works and the pain does not help. The reproductive system is called that for a unique reason and once its taken away fully the body of a woman is her repo organs could I say 90% OF her femininty survies of this working alongside othr bodily functions and even when the op is neccessary they should leave something if possible if they had listened to me when I had fybroids then maybe by stages of intervention I would have my womb they kept saying your womb is bulky for years it was the tumor which when take out was as big as a mellon and the womb was a large octagon shape my ovaries were ok but the doctor felt it would help my emotiomal state if I removed them because of my personality disorder which is affected emotionaly he convinced me while I was being wheeled in now I have no sex drive whatsoever which is causing great problems. I believe that there is a connection to all my problems now which I am defiinately investigating since my new diagnosis of neetropenia and monocolocal gammapathy and cfs.
I think this is a wonderful site and feel for all those who are going through there wilderness experiences you ar not alone rthere is always a way for peace of mind prayerfully it helps .
