Heart Hello

i am a tBI survivor, car accident in 2001...I can see healing still and I believe in Brain Plasticity- those new Neurons do grow back eventually. I used to be director of social services in various nursing homes prior to my accident. Now I cannot handle something like that and my injury effects my stress level too much that too much stress can make my body go into what looks like seizures, but are not. So my doctor feels I should start with volunteer work and see if I can handle even that. I still have my CSW on hold with the state of NJ...I have been in some groups on Facebook- and though it has been helpful- it is more for me to help others since i have been through this for so long. i do take Acupuncture every other week..for years it was every week and I feel I have made great strides with this. biofeedback as well for stress is fantastic..but unfortunately my damage causes stress to build up or to hit due to not being able to accomplish something or just depending environmentally- like crowd or loud noise. I have twin girls who are 8, and they are my joy, just when they want to do different activites with me..that is a struggle at times. My marriage ended in divorce in 2009- mostly due to my injury and recovery..it has been a road, but I am a better person now, with than before. GOD has been in my life before and is more now and i have learned how to change me- overcoming my Depression and letting go of things finally. I learned actual techniques to let go of things permanently..though they peek out at times, I do not allow my mind to listen. So if I see anything I can try to help with, I go. so i have learned a lot through researching my own injury and i just wanted to join you all.
