Default New Blog follows before/after of Aneurysm sufferer

Hi All,

As someone who has recently been diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm, I've decided to start a blog to document the process leading up to, and after surgery.

After seeing 1 or 2 videos of patients after surgery, It made me think that a more indepth look at the recovery process would be extremely beneficial to people who may be diagnosed in the future.

If you're interested in watching my recovery via video and written updates ***

I'd be happy to answer any questions or comments people may have via the blog as well.

If the blog becomes successful, I'd really like to expand the blog to have many people's "video diary" of recovery. I think it's a great way to help others stay strong during what can be immensely stressful times.

Thanks, and I hope to see you at the blog!

-Scott

Hi scott,

I am writing on behalf of my mum.

2 weeks ago on tuesday my mum was in bed suffering for her monthly bad migraine. I can only say something this time led me to see how she was, when she said she needed a doctor :O we called the doctor who saidhe would be a hour then she suddenly got worse over a small amoutn of time she complained out a pain in her neck and back and starting shaking. all of a sudden she went grey and her lips went blue?

my dad rang the ambulance.. while he was loking out for the ambuance he opened the curtains my mum screamed from the pain of the sunlight.

from then i new this had to be more than a migraine

The ambulance arrived and took her to hospital she then went unconious when arrving at the hospital.
they then told us she had a Aneurysm that had ruptured. and moved her to another hospital for them to drain it.

we are now still waiting for her the have a coil? i think its called
her vains are to weak at the moment and i could be weeks before they can do anything.

my mum is only 49 and i need her around still at the age of 20..

i am wrting this becase she went to the doctors time and time again and they never did anything for her what can you suggest i do. something has to be done for all these people that suffer of die.

Hi TJay,

I'm certainly no doctor, but having "the worst migraine of your life" is almost always acknowledged as the first sign of a hemorrhage in the brain.

There's no way for me, or really anyone, to know exactly what's wrong with your Mom without going to see a doctor and having some tests run. Given the story you outlined, it certainly seems like having a CT scan or an MRI run would be well worth it. Unfortunately, these things can be quite expensive without good insurance, so it's a tough decision if you don't have great insurance, but it sounds like she needs to be seen. If no doctor will see her, go to the ER. they can't refuse you there.

Good luck, I hope everything works out for you!

Default Hello and Welcome!

Hi TJay and WELCOME to Neurotalk!!

I'm sorry to hear of your Mum's pain and suffering.

From your wording I am guessing that you are not from the States so my advise as to what you should do is extremely limited.

I'm NO doctor, attorney or expert of any kind.....Your family may want to contact an attorney if you feel that your mother has been treated poorly by the medical community where you live.

I sincerely hope that she is getting the best medical treatment available.

Abbie
