Default 1 more new guy

hello all
i am a 53 year old male widower who used to be a tool and die maker. sept 1 2010 i was taken to the er because i had been in bed sick with a monster headache for 4 days my mom my sis and my daughter got me to hospital where they did a ct scan and said i had "a large fuzzy mass" in my brain, next was a lumbar puncture where they found blood in the fluid this ment a trip to a big hosp by ambulance. neurosurg said ruptured aneurysm and off to surgery i go. i woke up 11 days later so they tell me. i knew nothing for about another week after that. 3 weeks after surg i could sit up on the side of the bed with 2 helpers 1 more week and sent home no insurance so you gotta go. ended up with 2 aneurysms 1 burst 1 not 9 coils in my brain and a shunt drain thing thru my skull and under the skin to a valve above my ear down thru me inside that drains into my guts somehow. the hosp wanted me to go into a nurseing home but i dident want to be put there so all of the women in my life banded together to take care of me at home. i got a medicaid card 4-5 months into this to cover most of the bills and let me see some other doctors but i am still very messed up. i have to take pain pills and anti panic attack pills and a high blood pressure pill (never had high B P before) and a anti seizure pill. i do what the docs and therapists tell me to do.
i go to phy therapy 3 days a week if i can stand up. i got a denial letter from SS last week they said i could not do the work i have done all my life but i could work for 6 hours a day as what i dont know because i cant even sit up in a recliner chair for 6 hours let alone do anything. i have tremmors very bad so much that i cant walk when they get going and can barely get food into my mouth. the women at phy therapy all got mad that i was denied. this is the max i can do i need to lie down to rest now i just wanted to say hello.

Smile Hello and Welcome!

Hello Red and WELCOME to Neurotalk!

Here are a couple of links that may be of interest to you.

Social Security Disability
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum28.html
Don't give up.... please file an appeal... I'm no expert but at this point it can't hurt to hire an attorney who specializes in Social Security Disability.

You can hire a local attorney or a national attorney group such as Allsup (www.allsup.com) or Binder & Binder (www.binderandbinder.com) Most attorney's don't get paid if they don't win your case. Call around and see who fits you best.

I sincerely wish you the best!

Abbie

Default red

things got a bit rough yesterday tremmors got so bad my lady said it looked like i was break danceing with no music. i hate it tremmors start and it makes me mad that i cant control them so they get worse because i am mad so i get madder and they get worse spirileing thru the roof. i asked my neuro doc what to expect for recovery and he said you are a walkie talkie you can walk and talk and i am the only one that he has seen with what i have that can feed myself and not in 24 hour care. i got a lawyer the day after i got my denial letter he said it is aprox 535 days before a case gets to the jugement step. what the +@#* is up with that? you can see that i am messed up from across a football field. oh well enough complaining. i gotta get ready for phy therapy it amost wears me out just getting showered and dressed. have as good of a day as you can.
