Question Trigeminal Neuralgia Surgery After Care

An elderly family member had TN surgery close to 4 weeks ago. The surgery was a success, however the patient is still very weak. After any type of very easy physical activity, such as fixing breakfast, the patient still requires lots of rest. Is this "normal"? Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Nannora welcome to neuro talk. here is the link our Trigeminal Neuralgia forum
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum26.html
Can I ask what type of surgery ?? M.V.D. Gamma Knife... etc there are a few different surgeries one can have all the way up to deep brain stimulation and motor cortex. Some take longer to bounce back from.
also medications can make one tire easy and often.

I lurk and post most of the time in TN forum here . I have found all of the people I have met here at NeuroTalk to be especially helpful, kind and like family. It is nice to find you searching to help a family member. I hope to see you post in the t.n. forum just click on the link and you will go to the forum. Let me know if I can help you can also visit my profile page here and post to me that way if you like.
PEACE
BMW
