Default Chantix side effects

Hi, I am new and just wondering if anyone is having lasting side effects from Chantix? I have awful joint and muscle pain, burning of my feet, legs and hands, stiff neck, and of course weakness. I have seen many dr.'s and all my tests are good. A brain mri showed some white spots but I was told it was nothing to worry about. I will know more when they send me the report and I can read it myself. They mentioned ms then changed their minds, neurologist and rheumatologist. I have had these side effects since 9/07, 6 days after starting Chantix. Anyone know how to stop this pain?

Smile Hope this will help...

I Googled "chantix" and there was a huge amount of info that came up. There was also and attorney who looks he is working on a case...class action suit...don't know. I attached his link below.

Also I Googled "lawyers against chantix" and wow, pages of information. I also looked for "Chantix and Multiple Sclerosis" and found pages yet again...check out Google!!

Hope this will help

I was on chantix to stop smoking ...only on t.v. there was an advertisement
for people who used it and thought about, or tryed to ,or someone they knew had committed suicide to get in touch with this lawyer. so I stopped the chantix after 8 weeks. I was able to cut down on the cigs to 5 a day after that and have stayed at that number since. I guess I will become determined and quit for good one day without meds just my own will power. I meen the damage is done and cant be fixed the only thing quitting will do is stop any more damage. right ? RIGHT! I dont want to kill myself quitting that defeats the purpose.
Peace

Default Chantix does indeed cause neuropathy

I went on Chantix at least 6 different times to try and stop smoking. Usually only stayed on it for 3 months or less. I started noticing feet pain and some hand pain. It got so bad I thought I may have to quit work. My feet were aching and I was getting lots of nerve pain and it started to go to my hands. I finally linked Chantix to my health problems. I stopped taking Chantix and the pain subsided. I'm happy to report that I quit smoking, but I still have nerve pain. Its not as bad, but its still painful. I'm currently trying Lyrica to see if it helps. I would advise against using Chantix to anyone thinking about using it.

Sincerely, RoboDave

Welcome to NeuroTalk ROBODAVE and congratulations on quitting the smokes.

With your pain persisting, I wondered if you might find some answers in our Peripheral Neuropathy Forum.

Hi ROBODAVE,

Sorry you had so many problems from the Chantix.
I've heard that it's quite common.

fyi if you do a forum search using the link below,
you'll find many other posts regarding Chantix on this site.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/search.php

Just under where you type the keyword "Chantix", there is
Search Titles Only.

That'll bring up the threads.
