Default I'm not new but coming back

Didn't have to come here after my doctor put me on pain meds but the VAMC here has decided to wean every vet who doesn't have cancer off their pain meds. Scary.......
My old name was taken Charli so I'm using a new name.

I have:
Chronic pain
TOS
DDD
stenosis
arthritis
RSD/CPS
loss of cartlidge in knees
ancle and foot pain
and who knows what else

I"m 58 married and live on a small ranch with my husband, 1 dog (down from 3) and 5 cats, 2 fish tanks and wild critters. I'm a Vietnam vet.

ColoVet,
If this is affecting you or people you know - have them contact their senators and representatives and tell their story and how their pain is real and especially if they have tests & updated diagnoses to prove it.

I Googled "VAMC decided to wean vets off their pain meds"

there is also a flip side like this article - sad but probably true....
[Veterans were being given morphine, OxyContin and similar narcotics with a high potential for addiction -- often two, three or more such drugs in large doses -- for months, even years, on end, she says. Time after time, when she checked patients' charts, Gray could find no up-to-date diagnosis or lab results that would justify such treatment. ]
