So Im 39 years old, I had my first concussion at age 12 when I was bucked off of a horse and landed on headfirst into a boulder.. out cold.. hospitalized.. had to be woken up every 2 hours due to worries about going into a coma.. had very bad migranes for years afterwards. 2nd was a car vs bicycle.. car tried to beat my 12 speed through the intersection.. I hit the cars front fender and my head hit the hood.. out cold again... 3rd was skateboard accident at 15 y/o.. was on top of a 5' quarterpipe with my hands in my back pockets and fell during a "trick" facefirst to the asphalt... out cold again.. 4th was a car accident.. I was 31 years old I was t-boned in an intersection by some guy who decided the red light wasnt red enough... police report indicated he was doing 60 mph at impact..my head hit my metal door post.. out cold again.... went to hospital. Kaiser permanente in 2003.. no treatment.. no referal... nothing need i say more? 5th concussion was last year, 38 years old... on my 20speed road bike north of redlands in the mountains.. doing 40 mph on a downhill road, I got into the gravel and lost control of the bike... went headfirst into a metal roadsign..(thank god for helmets) but was still knocked out temporarily....when i woke i was still sliding down the asphault.
Ok so 5 concussions right.... Now I am having issues with everything from concentrating/focusing, having issues with anger and depression in my relationship with my loving wife... and serious memory gaps and memory loss. Can anyone suggest some form of help.... I have already decided to stop doing anything that can cause another concussion... whats next.? |
