Default Hey everybody!

Hey everybody - I'm new around here!

Just last week, I went to my hospital when I started to see bright flashing lights in my right eye. After waiting in the room for the doctor for about an hour, my right hand and cheek started going numb. About two minutes after that, my entire right side went completely numb. My heart felt like it was pounding out of my chest, and my words were all mixed up. I knew what I wanted to say, but couldn't say it. I was writing a text to a friend, and looking at it now I realize just how garbled I was.

At first, they thought I was having a stroke. They did a CT scan and blood work - both came back with no problems.

The next day I had to go back because my left arm and cheek went numb. Not nearly as bad as the day before, but bad enough that it was worrisome.

They arranged for me to have an EEG done this Friday (I'm rural and have to travel to the city) and an MRI done in a few months. I also see my family doctor November 2nd.

Right now, I'm hearing mixed opinions on what's going on. One doctor seems to think I had a seizure. Another thinks it was a complex migraine, or - unlikely, he seems to think, but possibly - MS.

I'm going a little crazy over here waiting to figure out what's wrong. In the last few days, my hands have been going numb off and on, as well as my forearms.

Sorry for the lengthy introduction - I hope that I can meet some people who have experienced the same things through this site.

Default Welcome, Nodyma!

I'm so glad you're here! I'm somewhat new to this site and have found it so helpful and supportive.

I know you're going through a frightening time and want you to know that I care. You may be able to get some feedback in the general health forum, which is at http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum2.html.

Again, welcome to Neurotalk!
