I am new to this site, and I am looking for some guidance. I have a grade 2 spondy with left leg radiculopathy and mild left lower leg and foot weakness. Ive been thru PT and spinal injections and have seen two separate neurosurgeons in the past two months. Both have recommended a fusion of l4-5 and to be honest I don't know what to do. I can walk but increased walking or sitting aggravates the issues. I used to be a runner, now I can barely walk around the neighborhood. What happens if I get the surgery and can never walk again? Or what if the is the beginning of the end of my life? The most major surgery I've ever had was having my wisdom teeth removed. My life has been reduced to inactivity. What if it's reduced to a lifetime of surgeries and disability? I don't know what to do and I've been a physician assistant for 11 years. You would think with my medical background that could get it together. Please help!

I'm glad you found NT, because there are people here who know what you're up against. They will help sort it out. The main thing right now is to try to take just right now, now.
Believe me, the end of your life will get here. Mine too! Try to slow down. I've never had anything but oral surgery either & face some too. It's really scary. But you're not there yet. One of our community contact people with link you to the right forums & you'll meet people who can start helping. They are caring, generous, knowledgable. This is a good place to be. |

Welcome to NT!
You've found a wonderful place for care and support. I'm sorry you are faced with these frustrations. I certainly understand the anxiety of the unknown. Try not to become overwhelmed with circumstances. Things will begin to unfold and the answers will begin to come. There are several forums here that you could benefit from. Here is the Spinal Forum to get you started. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum22.html There is alot of good information there and people willing to help. It's good that you are here and I pray that you start getting some answers soon. Caring, Rae |
