Smile New to NeuroTalk

My 2 1/2 year-old grandson has just been diagnosed with Absence Seizures. He was seen by his pediatrician last week after we had observed a few weeks of staring off into space. His parents and I questioned what we were seeing and when we all discussed it, we realized there was a problem. He was seen today by a neurologist, scheduled for the first-available outpatient EEG (2 months away) and started on medication. He is bright and outspoken - already knows his numbers, colors and alphabet.

I guess I'd like to hear from other families who have experienced this. Right now, prior to starting his medication, he is experiencing upward of 20 witnessed episodes daily. The goal of the medication is to control this number.

Any advice out there?
