Default New Here

I'm a newly diagnosed narcoleptic. I'm really confused about everything right now. For years everyone has told me or I felt like they told me I was just lazy or depressed. I kept telling everyone I'm not depressed. No one would listen. I've fallen asleep driving and had an accident. They told me maybe I just wasn't getting enough sleep. But I sleep for hours on end and they ( the doctors ) just wouldn't listen. I sleep for 14 hours at a time at night and wake for 2 hours or so and have a sleep attack and fall back asleep. I've been trying to work full time right now, but the stress of the job has caused the narocolepsy to worsen they say. I'm in a hard place right now.

Smile Hi Daisy Flower...

That's a pretty name. It's very good to meet you. I'm sorry to hear that you're narcolepsy has worsened, and that you've dealt with it so long. I don't know why some docs just will not listen, but think they know it all. I do hope you find the help that you need to feel better. And I hope you'll hang around here and join our group. Take care of yourself...

Best Wishes,
Idealist

One of my best friends was narcoleptic, and I played bridge occasionally with one also. It was an interesting bridge group, only cripples, and odd diseases allowed. Welcome to NT.

Glad to see you have decided to come to the gang. There a great number of people here to show comfort and answer questions for each other. Hope to see you around.
